Looking back at your preliminary task (the school magazine task), what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to full product?

I have learnt a lot in the time from the initial school magazine task to my music magazine.

Photography-wise, my skills have improved as I know about camera angles, shot distance, lighting and mood etc. I now know how to achieve the look I want.

I know about the layout of magazines alot more, do can use my knowledge and implement it into my own layout. This can be things like mastheads/titles and article layouts to drop-caps etc.

I now know that fonts can be used as a house style and that you need to carefully pick suitable fonts in order for your magazine to look neat and tidy.

Modes of address are very important in magazines, and allow you to change the mood of the magazine very easily, from using full grammar and correct spelling to using slang like 'innit'.

What I learned in the planning and research for my college magazine translated to my final products quite well. I knew the kinds of questions I needed to ask, as well as the ways to make my magazine fit the requirements of my target audience - what content the magazine should have, for example.
